Children are our future. They are the dear to our hearts and therefore we love to minister to them. We seek to minister to our children on several different levels to meet their spiritual, physical, emotional and social needs.
Sunday School Classes
Every Sunday at 9:30 a.m., our children meet in classes with other children of their own age. We have classes beginning with infants in our nursery all the way through the teen and then adult years as well.
Every age level teaches the truths of the Word of God on the level that the children are able to understand. Even in nursery we can teach children that God loves them, that their parents love them, and that we need to love and obey our parents and the Lord.
Students not only grow in their knowledge of the Word of God as they study together, but they enjoy the fellowship with each other. Teachers generally endeavor to have several times of activity throughout the year to love and minister to their
students. These may be party’s held around the holidays, a trip to the zoo, or a time of games and fun.
The truths learned from the Word of God form the basis of understanding the Scriptures while building their beliefs and character for life. The Scriptures tell us that we are to teach our children, “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little,” (Isaiah 28:10). The consistent teaching of the truths of God’s Word help guide young children to follow the Lord and become well behaved young people ready to be productive in our society.
Frontline Clubs— Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m.
Frontline Clubs begin Wednesday, September 8th, and is open to all children ages 2-12 years old. Come join us as we have fun singing songs, playing games and studying the Bible.
Frontline Clubbers can earn coins to buy neat stuff at the BX store, and also earn pins, medals, and awards throughout the year.
See you on Wednesday!
Churchtime Ministry — Sunday at 10:45 a.m.
Every Sunday our children enjoy the opportunity to worship the Lord in their own churchtime service. Our children in 3rd grade and below meet in the main auditorium with their parents for the opening of the morning service. After some of the songs, our Pastor has a special time with the children called "Preacher’s Pals." At that time the children come to the front of the Auditorium and pastor gives an object lesson or demonstration with a Biblical truth for the young children.
The children are then dismissed to go down stairs to special church time services designed just for them. Prepared workers will have a song time, game time, Bible lesson time, and sometimes a craft project that they will do. The lessons are right on their level and apply the teaching of the Word of God to their own lives.
Their service is concluded at the same time as the Adult service and parents can pick up their children downstairs in the church time room.
During Sunday school and every service HBC provides a nursery ministry. Our nursery is well-staffed by ladies in the church who are thoroughly screened. Our toys and beds are sanitized to provide a clean and wholesome environment.
Vacation Bible School
Every year our young people love VBS. They have special games, lessons, snacks, and visits from special puppets. Our workers love to treat the children to special contests, prizes, and a great time learning the Word of God.
Through out the year, we have special activities along with the activities from Sunday School classes and Patch the Pirate
Ministry. We vary the activities from year to year to give variety and fun. We have had Harvest Parties, Hay rides, Spring game times, gym games, camp outs, trips to a Maze, trips to parks, and zoo’s.
We love our children and enjoy building their lives around the Word of God. We would invite you to come and let us partner with you in helping your child grow in the ways of the Lord.
* All of our children’s workers are given the police background checks before they may minister to our children. They are also approved to serve based upon their own faithfulness to the Lord and Christian
character displayed over time as they are in fellowship with the church.
